"Rivers have historically framed our social, economic and geographical structures. I have lived in the Taw Valley for twenty five years, observing the tidal flow to and from the estuary, and the power of the sea breaking over rocks on our dramatic North Devon coastline.  Design concepts deal with the flows of the river and tidal waters; the turbulence and hidden depths below the calm surface. Forms create shadows and exhibit tonal qualities by their placement, ever changing in the light just as the river reflects light in its movement."
